Colorado Photography Week
Colorado Photography Week is a new statewide celebration of photography, launching in 2026 and inspired right here in Durango, Colorado. Created to bring together professional photographers, enthusiasts, students, galleries, businesses, and communities, the week features exhibits, workshops, special events, and photography experiences for everyone.
The vision for Colorado Photography Week is recognized and endorsed by the Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC), the state’s leading nonprofit photography organization and organizer of the biennial Month of Photography Denver Festival, held March 1–31, which shares our belief that Colorado deserves celebrations of the art, craft, and impact of photography.
And if Colorado needs a Photography Week, why not host it in Durango?
With its spectacular landscapes, creative community, historic character, and endless photographic opportunities, Durango is a natural home for this new Colorado tradition.
The week is anchored by the Colorado Pro Photographer Showdown, an exciting live event featuring five outstanding Colorado professional photographers competing for $12,000 in cash prizes, including the $10,000 Best in Show award.

A Unique Celebration Of Amazing Imagery And Music.
Audience members were treated to remarkable visual journeys featuring the natural world, cultural landscapes, and the human condition, both in Colorado and across the globe. Each photographer brought a distinct artistic voice, offering everything from sweeping mountain vistas and intimate wildlife portraits to vibrant urban scenes and powerful stories of people.
